The Best Damn Wheat Paste in the Midwest

Most of the past week has been lost to obligation and allergies... peace and quiet this Sunday morning have given me the opportunity to do some R+D on the first BTD Gorilla Art Kits. In so doing I am happy to report I have stumbled upon one of the best wheat paste recipes I have used yet. These kits are an idea Chris has been trying to sell me on for "a minute" saying that people like making street style art but there are too many barriers to entrance. Having finally been convince  BTD Gorilla Art Kits will be available through Etsy around Independence day and will contain an assortment of Mylar and contact paper stencils as well as ready-made prints and adhesive.

But for those that are looking to get started before July,  here is the wheat paste recipe I used:

1 Cup super hot water
3 Tablespoons flour (any flour will do ya) mixed to liquid with cold water
Pour the flour mixture into the hot water and heat to a boil. Stir constantly with fork or wisk to make sure the flour is fully dissolved. As it begins to thicken up allow it to cool down.  This makes roughly 1 Cup of super strong outdoor poster  glue which will keep for about a month. Holds up to 8lbs and dries transparent.

While wheat pasting is a really cost-effective replacement for traditional glues it may not be the best mediums for BTD to use (at this point) for our kits. Next week I will be exploring gelatin stickers and other ready made adhesives.
